AIR HANDLING UNITS SUPRA II
SUPRA®II air handling units are the ideal driving component for IHS® humidification systems and are designed to deliver air conditioning solutions that are simple in concept but technologically advanced.
They ensure precise control of temperature, humidity, and air quality, providing optimal conditions for production processes and operator well-being
OPERATING PRINCIPLE OF AIR HANDLING UNITS (AHUs)
The air, recirculated from the production area or fully supplied from outside, is filtered with appropriate efficiency to remove dust, particulate matter, and airborne contaminants.
SUPRA®II air handling units, driven by high-efficiency IE5 brushless motors with variable capacity and integrated drives—the same technology used to power the IHS® system pump—represent the perfect balance between operational simplicity and advanced technological performance.
They are designed to ensure simple, fast, and cost-effective electrical installation. The only power supply required is for the motor drives, while all field sensors and actuators are interconnected via Modbus technology. This single-line communication system enables real-time field feedback transmission and comprehensive monitoring of the complete installation.

IHS® – THE CORE OF THE AIR HANDLING UNIT (AHU) SYSTEM
The operating principle of the IHS® system is based on the use of one or more circular air distribution ducts equipped with precisely engineered perforations along their circumference. The size and positioning of these openings are designed to create an optimal inductive effect, continuously drawing in ambient air and amplifying circulation up to ten times the airflow directly delivered by the fans.
A series of Pulsor diffusers inject finely atomised osmotised water into a laminar airflow. Within approximately two metres, the water is fully evaporated, preventing any droplet formation and ensuring unprecedented air saturation levels, while maintaining a completely dry air distribution system.
ADVANTAGES OF SUPRA®II AIR HANDLING UNITS

FAQ
What are SUPRA® II suspended air handling units and what are their primary applications?
SUPRA® II suspended air handling units are high-performance industrial ventilation systems specifically designed as the ideal air delivery solution for AERIS IHS® Induction Humidification Systems.
They have been developed to create air conditioning and humidity control systems that are simple to install while delivering outstanding energy efficiency, advanced technology and reliable long-term performance.
What are the technological advantages of the motors used in SUPRA® II units?
SUPRA® II units are equipped with ultra-high-efficiency IE5 brushless EC motors featuring integrated motor drives.
This configuration represents the latest generation of industrial ventilation technology, combining maximum energy efficiency with simplified installation and reduced electrical wiring.
The same drive technology is also used to control the pumps within the IHS® humidification system, ensuring complete system integration and simplified maintenance.
Why is the ecBlue ventilation system considered state-of-the-art?
The core of every SUPRA® II unit is the ecBlue EC fan assembly, designed to maximize aerodynamic efficiency while minimizing noise emissions.
The system incorporates a die-cast impeller with sickle-shaped blades and a serrated trailing edge, specifically engineered to reduce aerodynamic noise and vibration.
An integrated flow straightener, installed within the diffuser section, recovers dynamic pressure and optimizes airflow distribution, improving both overall fan efficiency and system performance.
How does the SUPRA® II architecture reduce installation and wiring costs?
SUPRA® II has been designed around a simplified electrical architecture that significantly reduces installation time and wiring costs.
Only the motor drives require a power supply connection, using standard unshielded power cables, since each drive is integrated directly into the motor.
All other field devices—including sensors, actuators, pumps and fans—are connected through a simple single-bus Modbus communication network, minimizing cabling while improving system reliability and flexibility.
How are the system configured and monitored?
All sensors, motors and field devices continuously communicate through the Modbus network, providing comprehensive real-time monitoring of the entire installation.
In addition, the integrated EC motors can be easily configured, commissioned and monitored wirelessly via Bluetooth using the dedicated mobile application supplied with the system.
This enables fast commissioning, simplified diagnostics and convenient maintenance operations both on site and during service activities.
