ADVANCED EVAPORATIVE COOLING AND HUMIDIFICATION SYSTEMS FOR INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS

IHS® and IHS®Ds systems represent state-of-the-art solutions for industrial air conditioning, humidification, and adiabatic cooling applications. Developed in collaboration with the Politecnico di Milano, they deliver outstanding energy efficiency, hygienic operation, environmental uniformity, and operational reliability, with minimal maintenance requirements.
Both systems are based on an exclusive principle that enables extremely high air saturation levels, ensuring superior performance compared to conventional systems, even in the most demanding production environments.
Their compliance with the strict VDI 6022 standard ensures safe operation in all applications, including environments with high hygienic requirements such as healthcare facilities.

OPERATING PRINCIPLE OF THE IHS® SYSTEM

The IHS® system operates through one or more circular air distribution ducts equipped with precisely engineered perforations along their circumference. The size and positioning of these openings are designed to create an optimal inductive effect, continuously drawing in ambient air and amplifying circulation up to ten times the airflow directly delivered by the fans.

A series of Pulsor diffusers inject finely atomised osmotised water into a laminar airflow. Within approximately two metres, the water is fully evaporated, preventing any droplet formation and ensuring unprecedented air saturation levels, while maintaining a completely dry air distribution system.
Pressure control and system modulation are managed by a stainless steel volumetric pump, designed without valves, mechanical seals, or external lubrication, ensuring maintenance-free operation.

OPERATING PRINCIPLE OF THE IHS®Ds SYSTEM

  • Stage 1: Inductive Saturation with Turbulent Flow. This stage is achieved through high-pressure atomising nozzles installed on horizontal manifolds, equipped with shut-off valves to enable multiple humidification stages. Each nozzle generates a vortex effect, inducing rapid mixing between atomised water and process air, increasing the air moisture content to near saturation within less than one metre.
  • Stage 2: Evaporative Humidification. The saturated air containing residual micro-droplets passes through a honeycomb PAD post-humidification barrier, accelerating evaporation and achieving saturation levels close to 100% RH. The PAD features a cross-fluted structure that increases contact time and surface area between air and water, promoting natural evaporation. It is manufactured with flocked media to capture residual droplets, significantly reducing water discharge.
  • The IHS®Ds system offers up to 15 modulating humidification stages with proportional spray pressure control, ensuring precise humidity regulation with tolerance within ±1% RH.

Additional technical features:

  • Supplied with integrated air filtration stages;
  • Exclusive use of osmotised water with UV sanitisation;
  • Automatic flushing and draining cycles to prevent water stagnation.
