INDUSTRIAL EVAPORATIVE COOLING

Industrial evaporative coolers provide a highly efficient solution for cooling medium and large industrial and commercial environments, based on an environmentally friendly and low-energy consumption technology.

They combine indoor comfort, sustainability, energy efficiency, and ease of operation, offering a reliable solution designed to improve working conditions in large facilities, with a fast and measurable return on investment.

OPERATING OF INDUSTRIAL EVAPORATIVE COOLERS

Industrial evaporative coolers operate based on the principle of adiabatic evaporation. Warm external air is drawn into the unit and passed through evaporative cooling pads made of cellulose or treated PVC, which are continuously kept wet by a water circulation system supplied from the internal tank. As the air passes through the wet media, water evaporates, absorbing heat and producing cooled air.
The cooled air is then distributed into the environment through roof-mounted or wall-mounted diffusers, or through ducted systems. The system can operate in:

  • Cooling mode, ideal when the external air is warm and relatively dry;
  • Ventilation mode, providing air exchange during milder periods.

FAQ

What is evaporative cooling (adiabatic cooling) and how does this system work?

Evaporative cooling, also known as adiabatic cooling, is an environmentally friendly technology that uses the natural process of water evaporation to cool incoming air.
The evaporative cooler draws warm, dry outdoor air through specially designed cooling pads that are continuously supplied with water. As the air passes through the wetted cooling media, part of its sensible heat is used to evaporate the water. This adiabatic process significantly reduces the air temperature.
The resulting cool, fresh and filtered air is continuously supplied into the building, while warm air and airborne contaminants are naturally displaced and exhausted through the building’s existing openings or dedicated exhaust systems.

The main advantage is the significant reduction in energy consumption, which can be up to 80–90% lower than that of conventional vapour-compression air conditioning systems.
Evaporative coolers do not use energy-intensive compressors or refrigerant gases such as fluorinated refrigerants. They only require a fan and a low-power water circulation pump.
In addition, installation costs and routine maintenance requirements are considerably lower and simpler than those of conventional industrial refrigeration systems.

Yes. Unlike conventional air conditioning systems, which require enclosed spaces to operate efficiently, evaporative cooling systems achieve their best performance when doors and windows remain open or when used in combination with exhaust fans.
The system operates by continuously supplying fresh outdoor air and completely renewing the indoor air volume.
The constant supply of cooled air creates a slight positive pressure inside the building, naturally expelling hot air, fumes and accumulated odours from the production areas.

Evaporative cooling is the ideal solution for large industrial facilities where conventional air conditioning would be technically impractical or economically unsustainable.
Typical applications include:
• Foundries.
• Rubber and plastics processing plants.
• Mechanical workshops.
• Logistics centres and warehouses.
• Paper and packaging industries.
• Livestock buildings.
It is particularly suitable for facilities where loading doors remain continuously open for the movement of goods, forklifts or production vehicles.

Our industrial evaporative coolers are designed with automatic water management cycles to ensure maximum hygienic safety.
The system is equipped with automatic drain functions that completely empty the internal water reservoir whenever the unit is switched off or after a predetermined number of operating hours, preventing water stagnation.
Since the water circulates at relatively low temperatures (typically below 20°C) and is not atomized or sprayed into the air, but instead evaporates naturally through the cooling pads, the risk of Legionella growth and transmission is considered negligible when the system is correctly installed, operated and maintained.
