INDUSTRIAL FIBRE SEPARATORS
air treatment in textile and nonwoven plants
INDUSTRIAL FIBRE SEPARATORS
In air treatment systems for textile and nonwoven plants, effective fibre separation is essential to ensure production efficiency, product quality, and clean working environments. Fibre separation systems are designed with multiple stages, each addressing specific filtration requirements and the proper handling of collected material.
Depending on the system configuration and fibre characteristics, different separation technologies can be implemented, including rotating disc pre-filters, inertial separators, and fibre compactors for the controlled discharge and handling of collected fibres.
ROTATING DISC PRE-FILTER
The rotating disc pre-filter is a high-efficiency solution for the separation of airborne fibres. Constructed with a strong galvanised and coated steel structure, it incorporates a rotating filter disc whose surface is continuously cleaned by a fixed suction nozzle operating under negative pressure. The gear motor, positioned on the clean air side, ensures continuous rotation of the disc.
Key advantages:
- Continuous operation with consistent filtration performance;
- Self-cleaning system that minimises manual maintenance;
- Compact design and easy installation.
INERTIAL SEPARATOR
The inertial separator is a static pre-separation unit designed to handle airflows containing high concentrations of fibres. The air enters tangentially, creating a vortex motion that separates the fibres through inertial forces, allowing them to be collected in the hopper below.
Key advantages:
- No moving parts, ensuring minimal maintenance requirements;
- High efficiency in the separation of coarse fibres;
- Compact design with easy access for inspection.
FIBRE COMPACTOR
Downstream of the separation process, the fibre compactor ensures controlled and efficient discharge of the collected material. The cylindrical painted steel body houses a conical filter basket, designed to retain residual fibres. An internal screw conveyor compacts the material, enabling continuous discharge to the collection system. The unit is equipped with an inspection window, pressure switch, and differential pressure gauge for effective monitoring and control.
Key advantages:
- Controlled and continuous discharge of collected fibres;
- Material compaction to reduce disposal volume;
- Easy monitoring and maintenance, supported by integrated control and inspection components.
