A scrubber<\/strong> is a wet abatement system designed to effectively remove airborne pollutants and particulate matter<\/strong> (dust, fumes, VOCs, and acid gases) from industrial exhaust air streams.<\/p>\n

This technology can combine the high-efficiency separation effect of a Venturi section with physical or chemical absorption within the scrubbing tower,<\/strong> ensuring thorough purification of contaminated air. It is particularly suitable for industrial applications involving high concentrations of dust or soluble gaseous compounds, including corrosive or odorous substances.<\/p>\n

The contaminated air stream is conveyed into the vertical scrubber tower<\/strong>, where the upward gas flow comes into contact with a downward liquid flow. This interaction takes place within a packed section filled with specially designed packing materials,<\/strong> which maximise the contact surface between the gas and the liquid. It is in this section that the abatement process occurs, as pollutants are removed from the gas through physical absorption, chemical reactions, or adsorption, depending on their characteristics.<\/p>\n

At the end of the process, the purified air passes through a droplet separator and is discharged from the top of the scrubber tower<\/strong>, while the contaminated liquid is collected at the bottom of the unit. When the air to be treated contains high concentrations of particulate matter, the scrubbing tower is preceded by a Venturi section<\/strong>. This component features a converging throat that accelerates the gas flow, generating turbulence and reducing pressure. In this critical zone, a liquid stream\u2014typically water or a specific solution is injected through high-pressure nozzles.
The direct contact between the gas and the liquid creates intense interaction between the two phases, promoting the agglomeration and capture of suspended solid particles, as well as the partial removal of soluble gaseous pollutants<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
